RESEARCH STANDARDS

How TickerSutra turns disclosures into comparable evidence.

The ranking is a research triage system. It combines structured financial history, ownership, exchange filings and management commentary while keeping missing evidence visible.

1. Start with the listed-equity universe

TickerSutra reconciles active NSE and BSE equity masters using exchange symbols, security codes and ISINs. Funds, bonds, preference shares and other non-equity instruments are excluded from the ranked-equity count.

2. Collect evidence from attributable sources

The system combines company financial history with NSE and BSE disclosures, promoter-pledge records, shareholding changes, corporate announcements, annual reports and available concall transcripts. Company pages retain links to the underlying source trail so material claims can be independently checked.

3. Score multiple research dimensions

Each company is assessed across financial quality, growth momentum, moat and margins, regulatory catalysts, governance quality, institutional trend and valuation comfort. A high score is a prompt for deeper research—not a buy signal, return forecast or price target.

4. Apply publication and portfolio gates

Search-indexable company pages require at least 85% evidence confidence and complete evidence, liquidity, sector and governance gates. Records below that threshold remain visible in the full dashboard where their gaps can be inspected, but they are not published as standalone search pages.

5. Classify events and management language

Exchange announcements are grouped as positive catalysts, negative catalysts or routine disclosures. Filed management documents are analyzed for themes such as capacity, approvals, export growth, pricing, margins, leverage, concentration and execution risk. Automated classifications are research aids and may require human verification.

6. Compare captured management documents

Evidence Delta compares themes surfaced in a company’s latest captured management document with the prior captured document. It can identify newly surfaced, intensified, eased or directionally changed themes, but it does not infer that an absent theme was withdrawn. Both source documents remain linked for verification.

7. Red-team the thesis with counter-evidence

Thesis Red Team combines captured negative exchange events, completed governance reviews, promoter pledges, verified liquidity constraints, worsening management-document themes, promise slippage and source-backed relationship exposure. Its attention score only prioritizes dossiers for review. It is not a probability, valuation, price target, sell signal or proof that a thesis is false. Absence from the queue means no qualifying counter-signal was captured—not that risk is absent.

8. Turn captured evidence into a review queue

Research Queue orders source-linked tasks from recent material filings, critical counter-signals, catalyst contradictions, management-document changes and independent evidence clusters. Priority reflects review urgency only. It is not an estimate of investment risk, expected return, price impact or the action an investor should take. Marking a task reviewed creates private workflow state. It syncs to the signed-in account when available and never changes the underlying public research.

Updates and limitations

Data is refreshed as source pipelines run; a displayed update date refers to the research snapshot, not necessarily the latest exchange filing. Sources can be delayed, restated, unavailable or parsed imperfectly. Always verify a decision-critical fact against the original filing and read the full disclaimer.
