MANAGEMENT COMMENTARY
Signals from filed documents
In the DRI segment, sales volumes increased to 479.69 KT, supported by stable realisations and improved operational performance. FY 2025-26 also marked the successful ramp-up of the pellet business with pellet production reaching 3.03 MnT following commercial production commencing towards the end of Q2 FY 2025-26. The pellet plant achieved 100% capacity utilisation within four months of commissioning, supported by st
Importantly, this has scaled on both fronts, up 639 basis points year-on-year and up 631 basis points quarter-on-quarter. Very few quarters see margin expansion of this order on both a year-on-year and a quarter-on-quarter basis at the same time. First, the commissioning of the slurry pipeline, lower logistics and freight costs on iron ore and pellets.
Kunal Kothari: But sir, volume has increased sharply. So must be there any operating leverage benefit that has not been seen in terms of higher margins? Rajesh Gupta: That's what I said, internal consumption has increased.
Full scale operations have commenced at Central Hill, and the FY '27 equipment mobilization plan is on schedule. On greenfield, 88 electric equipment units are now operational at the mine with a further 20 at the railway siding. We have also mobilized 14 m obile crushers and 26 HEMM units for BHQ crushing and are deploying higher capacity 240 -ton dumpers to support the enhanced production.
However, despite improved trade flows, broader supply-demand imbalances and weak global pricing trends continued to weigh on domestic steel prices.5 168 MnT Crude Steel Production 10.5% Y-o-Y growth 8.24 MnT Finished Steel Exports 28.7% Y-o-Y growth 2047 500 Million tonnes 2030 300 Million tonnes Outlook Domestic steel prices are expected to find some support in the near term, supported by lower finished steel import
This growth was supported by capacity additions and stable utilisation levels across primary producers. However, the gap between production and relatively slower demand growth suggests that part of the incremental output was either exported or absorbed into inventories. In terms of production routes, the BF-BOF segment continued to account for a significant share, supported by integrated steelmakers operating at stea
Thriveni's focus remains clear, scale responsibly, execute efficiently and protect margins through productivity and cost optimization. The pipeline into FY '27 across Gadchiroli, Odisha, and coal is strong, and we are confident of sustaining both growth and profitability. With that, I'll hand it back to open the floor for Q&A.
This resource base secures feedstock for our metallurgical operations and supports scalable production growth. With domestic iron ore prices at a significant discount to international markets, while value-added products such as pellets and steel command stronger realisations, our forward integration strategy enables enhanced value capture. Ongoing expansion of pellet capacity and development of steel manufacturing ca
Key Business Strengths and Strategies Strengths India’s Lowest-Cost Producer We occupy the first quartile of India’s iron ore cost curve, supported by a combination of advantages that are structural in nature and not easily replicable by competitors. The absence of auction premiums, a favourable royalty incidence relative to state-owned and auction-acquired mines, captive logistics infrastructure and access to high-g
This rebalancing supported market stability by absorbing part of the excess supply and reducing competitive pressure from imports. However, despite improved trade flows, broader supply-demand imbalances and weak global pricing trends continued to weigh on domestic steel prices.5 168 MnT Crude Steel Production 10.5% Y-o-Y growth 8.24 MnT Finished Steel Exports 28.7% Y-o-Y growth 2047 500 Million tonnes 2030 300 Millio
Conversely, exports from India and China declined. India’s exports fell from 37 .7 million tonnes to 26.4 million tonnes, primarily due to rising domestic demand and regulatory factors. China, while remaining the world’s largest steel producer, reduced exports from 24.6 million tonnes to 21.8 million tonnes as it prioritised domestic consumption.
With the confidence that the capital markets have given us as well as our success in the mining of the iron ore, we -- with both those factors together, we are hoping to increase our capacity -- planned capacity. Those plans have not yet been finalized and nor have been approved by the Board. We are doing various studies, technical, commercial, financial and seeing where the capital should be allocated.

Evidence, freshness and limitations
What does the TickerSutra score mean?
The score ranks captured evidence across financial quality, growth, moat and margins, regulatory catalysts, governance, institutional trend and valuation comfort. It is a research-prioritization tool—not a buy recommendation or price target.
Which sources support this page?
Financial history, ownership and pledge data, NSE and BSE filings, annual reports and available earnings-call transcripts are combined here. Use the source trail and original exchange document before relying on a decision-critical fact.
Why can an item be unresolved?
Unresolved means the current captured source window did not provide enough evidence for that check. It does not establish that a risk or relationship is absent.
